Verton Dale Troyer, 78, of Payette, Idaho, died at home on Sept. 26.
A funeral service will begin at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Island City.
Verton was born in Holmes County, Ohio, on Aug. 30, 1930, to Dan and Ella (Gingerich) Troyer.
On April 10, 1949, he married Wilma Marie Miller, who survives. To this union were born three sons and four daughters: Martha (Ken) Torkelson of Duchess, Alberta, Lorne (Sharon) Troyer of Payette, Idaho, Edwin (Susan) Troyer of Union, Doreen (Dennis) Torkelson of the Philippines, Verda (Darrel) Friesen of Union, John (Louise) Troyer of Eureka, Nev., and Arlene (Dennis) Clugston of Halsey; 45 grandchildren and 55 great grandchildren.
Surviving are two sisters, Mabel (Evangel) Schlabach of Greenwood, Del., and Joyce (Gary) Booth of Wooster, Ohio; and two brothers, Loyal Troyer of Moorcroft, Wyo., and Larry Troyer of Bridgeville, Del.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Owen, Ivan and Daniel; one sister, Erma, and two grandsons.
