Arnold L. Thompson

Arnold L. Thompson, age 76, of La Grande died October 12, 2004 at a local care facility. A celebration of life and graveside service will begin at 3:00 p.m. Friday at the Summerville Cemetery with the Rev. Susan Smith-Allen officiating.

Mr. Thompson was born May 6, 1928 to Charles and Minnie McBee Thompson in Jerome, Arizona. He graduated from high school in Huntington in 1946 and married Mary Furman on January 7, 1947. He worked for the Oregon Department of Transportation and retired after 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping with his sons and grandsons and archery hunting.

Survivors include his wife; his sons and their wives, Randy and Sally Thompson of Imbler and Louie and Dena Thompson of Roseburg; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a special nephew, Bill Furman and his wife, Joyce.
