David Hoppe, 54 of Pleasant Hill, Oregon died Monday, March 2nd at Sacred Heart hospital in Eugene from sudden health complications.
A celebration of life will begin Thursday,March 12th at 4:00 at Werner Foster Care 85820 Parkway Road, Pleasant Hill. Arrive and socialize at 3:45
A service in La Grande will begin Saturday, March 14th at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peters Episcopal Church in La Grande. Burial will follow at Summerville Cemetery. Viewing hours for family and friends will be Saturday morning from 10 until noon at Daniels-Knopp Funeral & Cremation Center in La Grande.
Joseph David Hoppe was born on October 2, 1960 in Portland, the third son born to Donald and Jacqueline (Royes) Hoppe. David, as he was known by most, was raised in various places in Oregon including Summerville where he lived and worked on the Royes Farms. While attending Imbler High School he was active in sports. He briefly attended Treasure Valley Community College in Ontario. Later he entered the U.S. Navy but was shortly thereafter discharged for a disability. David was outgoing, liked to laugh and made friends easily.
Survivors include his companion of many years, Rachel Cherie Bishop; daughter Sherryce Emery of Los Angeles, CA; a brother, Dan Hoppe of Eugene and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Hoppe and both parents.
