Geneva E. Wallsinger

Geneva Esther Wallsinger, 95, of La Grande, died Dec. 19 at a local care center in La Grande. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Summerville Cemetery Chapel. Burial will be at the Summerville Cemetery.

Geneva was born Dec. 30, 1914, to Reece and Christine (Steinwender) Sutphin in Wallowa. She was raised and educated in Wallowa and married Virgil Wallsinger. They purchased a home in Alicel and spent many years farming and raising livestock. They later sold their farm and moved to Island City where Geneva enjoyed golfing and was a member of the La Grande Country Club. She also liked to bowl, play cards and take trips to Portland and the Oregon Coast. She loved collecting owls of all kinds and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her brother, Clayton Sutphin of Enterprise; as well as several nieces, nephews and grand-nephews and grand-nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
