Jacquetta Le King-Zurbrick was born June 21, 1939 in Ontario, Oregon to Blondeenne Velta Ivie-King and Leland Howard King.
Jacquetta graduated from Madras Union High School in1957. She was active in sports, Glee Club, FHA, band and was a majorette. Jacquetta had perfect attendance all four years of high school. She was also on the honor roll, a trick her parents played on her. If she did not keep her grades up she could not attend the Friday night dances. It worked.
Jacquetta began her banking career in Portland, Oregon as a teller with First National Bank and U.S. National Bank. Upon moving to Tucson, Arizona she worked for the Arizona Bank, which was acquired by Security Pacific Bank and later was acquired by Bank of America. Retiring as manager of the Davis Monthan Airforce Office. After retiring in 1993 and moving to La Grande, Oregon she worked part time for First Interstate and Wells Fargo Bank.
Some of the most exciting times were spent as the manager of the bank on Davis Monthan Airforce Base. She was involved in military affairs, was a member of the Tucson Chamber of Commerce and was privileged to travel with the Airforce visiting Cheyenne Mountain, the Airforce Academy and Nellis Airforce Base, home of the Thunderbirds. While visiting Edwars Airforce Base she met the love of her life, Roy Rogers. One other exciting time with the Airforce was flying in q C-130 down the center of the Grand Canyon. It was something else to stand in the front of the C-130 and watch the sun go down in the canyon.
Jacquetta loved to read, crochet, knit attend Grannies Bible Study, being a volunteer in the Grande Ronde Hospital Auxiliary. Amazing, amazing woman.
Jacquetta is survived by her husband, Phillip R.
