It is with great sadness that we announce that our sister Janice Lilly Hudson died May 16, 2017 about 4 a.m. at her home in Summerville, Oregon. She was surrounded by her husband Jerry and many family members.
She had many talents and interests from sewing to hunting to gardening but her first interest was her husband and family. She was a majorette in high school and even marched in the Walla Walla Lilac Parade in Walla Walla, Washington.
She became well known for her sewing talent and worked at The Top Shop in La Grande as their seamstress and alterations lady for several years. Later she worked as a cashier at Albertsons grocery store.
She was well known for her cooking, candy making as well as baking and decorating cakes for all occasions. She and her husband have also been known for their hospitality, rarely was there a time they did not have people dropping by. She enjoyed canning and freezing food for her family. She enjoyed camping and horseback riding in her younger years. She also enjoyed going out to pick huckleberries and Morrell mushrooms. She also enjoyed working on the computer and saving pictures on her computer.
She was preceded in death by a brother who shared her birthday but three years older, Norman Dale Lilly. Then by her parents Albert W. Lilly and Doris M. Lilly. She is survived by her husband Jerry I. Hudson, their son Rock Hudson and his wife Debbie. Their son Rick Hudson and his wife Liz. And their daughter Randi Robbs and her husband Doug. They have eight grandchildren, grandchildren, Clint Hudson, Tracy Biggs, Moose Hudson, Teri Smith, Tucker Robbs, Tyson Hudson, Travis Hudson and Taylor Ramsey ten great grandchildren.. She also is survived by her two sisters, Sharon LaMiller and her husband Ernie and her sister, Reine Bailey (widowed), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
Arrangements are being made by Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center of La Grande, Oregon. Viewing will be May 26, 2017 from 4 to 6 p.m., funeral will be May 27, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Daniels~Knopp in La Grande, Oregon. Burial will follow the service at Summerville Cemetery. Dinner will follow at Rebekahs Lodge in Summerville.
