Joseph Frederick Weitlauf

Joseph Frederick Weitlauf, 22, of Union died March 28 after a long illness. Viewing will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday April 1 at Loveland Funeral Chapel, with a recitation of the rosary at 7. A celebration of life will begin at noon Saturday in the Union High School gym. A graveside service will follow at the Union Cemetery, along with a dinner hosted by Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 340 S. 10th St.

Mr. Weitlauf was born July 12, 1982, to John and Patti Weitlauf in Union. He loved life and the outdoors, and was an inspiration to many. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and other hobbies. He will be remembered for his determination and courage.

Survivors include his parents and sisters, Jessica and Lena Weitlauf, all of Union; a grandfather, Fred Weitlauf of Gilbert, Ariz.; a grandmother, Shirley Stoddard of Union; and other relatives. A grandmother, Joyce Weitlauf, and a grandfather Vernon Stoddard Sr., both died earlier.
