Larry "Joe" Hohstadt

Larry Joe Hohstadt was born at Hot Lake on March 18, 1939 one of two sons born to Cletus and Melba (Goss) Hohstadt.

Joe as he was known was raised and educated in Cove on the family dairy and Cove schools, graduating with The class of 1957.  After graduation Joe joined the Oregon Army National Guard where he served for 8 years before returning to work with  his family on the dairy farm in Cove.  After the farm was sold, Joe began working for Boise Cascade where he became a planer operator until his retirement.

On February 10, 1962 Joe was married to Patricia Ann Wallace in Cove.

Joe enjoyed riding motorcycles, especially with his brother Dick.

Relatives who remain are his wife of 63 years, Pat Hohstadt of La Grande, sons and their spouses, Mitchell & Susan Hohstadt of Siera Vista, Arizona, Brian Hohstadt & Dr. William Runyan, M.D. of Sultan, Washington, his brother and sister-in-law Richard "Dick" & Sharon Hohstadt of La Grande, sister & brother-in-law, Nola & Mike Tabler of Moses Lake, Washington.

A visitation will be held Friday, August 29, 2025 from 11 a.m. to noon at Daniels-Knopp Chapel, 1502 7th Street, La Grande.

There will also be a gathering afterwards at Wildflower Lodge, with light fare provided.
