Lois Elise Garity

Lois Elise Garity, age 96, of La Grande, died Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at a local care facility. Funeral services will be announced later by Daniels Chapel of the Valley.

Mrs. Garity was born on March 26, 1911, the daughter of Joseph and Lilly Zwiefel in Summerville. She was education at the Pleasant Grove School. She was married to Chester Michael Garity, who worked for the Union Pacific Railroad. She was involved with the Women's Auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. She worked for the Miller Dairy and Inland Feed and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her son, James Garity of Cove; granddaughter, Dawn Garity of Kissimmee, Florida; sister, Adelaide Bailey of Hood River; three nieces and other relatives and friends. Her husband preceded her in death in 1968.
