Mary Wanda Lyon

Mary Wanda Lyon, 86, of Pendleton and formerly of Elgin died March 26. A graveside service will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Island City Cemetery.

Mrs. Lyon was born June 18, 1918, to Nels and Abigail Mackey Roselund in Oakley, Idaho. On Sept. 23, 1939, she married James F. Lyon in Payette, Idaho. The couple lived in Sweet Home, and Elgin from 1959 to 1974, before moving to Pendleton. She enjoyed camping, hunting, traveling and square dancing. She was a member of the Indian Valley Paraders.

Survivors include two daughters, Janice McQueary and Lana Bird; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Her husband, a daughter, Judith Lyon, and a son, James Terry Lyon, all died earlier.
