Paul Ahner, age 46, of Milton-Freewater and formerly of La Grande died October 7, 2004 at Kindred Hospital in Seattle after a long illness.
Mr. Ahner was born on November 30, 1957 to Oscar and Florence Butenschoen Ahner in Springfield. He graduated from high school there and worked for a while at Eastern Oregon University. He moved to Milton-Freewater several years ago to be near family. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include a son, Harley Ahner of La Grande; his mother and two sisters, O'Linda Becker and Pauline Martine, all of Milton-Freewater; a brother, Anthony Ahner of Tacoma and other relatives.
Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
