Vilda Verna Hopkins

Vilda Verna Hopkins, 96, of La Grande, died April 14 at a local care center in La Grande.

A graveside service was held April 18 at Summerville Cemetery.

Vilda was born May 19, 1914, in Summerville to Antoine and Oneta Atkinson End. She married Robert Marion Francis Hopkins on May 22, 1936, in Walla Walla. They became the parents of 11 children.

She worked at the Sacajawea Hotel and Annex from 1961 to 1974.

Vilda loved the outdoors and her pets. Spending time with her grandchildren made her happy.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, William and Priscilla Hopkins, Jack Hopkins, Judy Hopkins, Mike Hopkins and John and Verna Schwendemann. She was preceded in death by her parents, Antoine and Oneta; her husband, Robert; and her children, Mark Hopkins, Dennis Hopkins, David Hopkins, Gladys Griffin, Sally Decker and Clara Kimball.
