Virgil Vaughn Barton died July 10, 2007 at age 84.
Mr. Barton was born Dec. 3, 1922 in Promise. He served in the Army during World War II and was a logger who lived most of his life in La Grande. He moved to Gresham last year.
Survivors include include his daughters, Linda Wheeler, Norma Rieke and Linda Anderson; sons, Ahron Barton and Harold Anderson; sisters, Vera Roop, Clarice Kiesecker, Elvira Sims and Shirley Coffey; brothers, Emmett and Russell; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
