Zedna Mae Nichols

Zedna Mae Nichols, 88, of La Grande, died June 25 at a local care center. A graveside service will begin at 2 p.m. today at Island City Cemetery.

Zedna was born Sept. 27, 1921, to Edward and Margaret Mae Nuckolls Reeves at Holyoke, Colo. She came to La Grande in 1942 and lived here until her death. She was a waitress at several restaurants in the La Grande area. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Those who knew her say she was an excellent quilter.

Zedna is survived by her only child, Fred Reeves and his wife, Nancy, of West Richland, Wash.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Scott, Paul, Marvel, Ruby and Rosetta.
