March 17, 1937 ~ September 21, 2023 (age 86) 86 Years Old
Clyde E. White of La Grande died Thursday, September 21,2023 in La Grande at the age of 86.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in La Grande.
Private interment was held at the Grandview Cemetery in La Grande. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels-Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center.
Clyde Emery was born in La Grande on March 17, 1937, one of eight children to Ralph Emery and Estella (Goller) White. He was raised on the family ranch above La Grande and was educated in La Grande, graduating with the class of 1955. From 1959 until 1962 Clyde served his country in the Army National Guard. On December 16, 1961 he was married to Elizabeth Owens in La Grande. Clyde worked for Boise Cascade, pulling green chain, driving truck and equipment before he quit to devote full time to his farming and ranching, raising hay, wheat, cattle and hogs.
He was a member of the La Grande First Baptist Church. He also belonged to the Cattlemen’s Association and the South 40 Club. He enjoyed wood working, building furniture, hunting and fishing but mainly enjoyed his work on the ranch.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Elizabeth, children Andrew & LaRae White and Jenny & Tyler Pagliarulo, grandchildren, Cooper, Taylor, Grace, Luke, Ava and Adam, a sister Ginger Fenn, all of La Grande.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Dorr, Eugene, Lucille “Peggy”, Lawrence, Charles and Reola.
