Helena German

Helena German, age 104, of Salem and formerly of La Grande, died Wednesday, August 07, 2002 at a care facility in Salem.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 12, 2002 at the Summerville Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels Chapel of the Valley.

Mrs. German was born to Henry and Frieda Fries in La Grande on June 19, 1898. On June 5, 1921 she married Ray German in Summerville and they had four children. He preceded her in death in September of 1967. She lived in La Grande until 1995 when she moved to Salem. Mrs. German enjoyed crocheting and reading.

Survivors include her children, Lloyd German of Hood River and Frances Zander of Salem; eight grandchildren; twenty six great grandchildren; twenty four great great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. Two children, June Livermore and Claire German preceded her in death.
