Lillian Faye Allen-Smoot

Lillian Faye Allen-Smoot, age 74, beloved Mother, passed away on Father's Day 2002 after a long illness.

Mrs. Smoot was born in Caddo Mills, Texas on April 1, 1927, to Van and Lillian Robertson and she attended high school in Kilgore, Texas. Faye became the war bride of Dick Louis Allen on March 25, 1944. Their life's work was pasturing churches in Idaho, Oregon and Washington. Along with church activities she enjoyed cooking, sewing, camping and being with her children and grandchildren.

After Rev. Allen passed away Faye returned to Texas and later married Cordell Smoot in Daingerfield. He died in August of 1993 and she returned to La Grande to be near family.

Survivors include her children, Patti Spray of La Grande, Sue Nine of Twin Falls, Idaho, Becky Collman of La Grande and Bill Allen of Roundup, Montana; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

There will be a private family memorial service. Those who wish may make contributions in memory of Mrs. Allen-Smoot to the Alzheimer's Association in care of Daniels Chapel of the Valley, 1502 7th Street, La Grande, Oregon 97850.
