Virginia H. Fenn, of La Grande, died Friday, November 24, 2023 in La Grande at the age of 96.
A memorial service will be held December 9, 2023 at 2pm at Daniels-Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center 1502 7th St., La Grande.
Virginia Helen was born on June 5, 1927 in La Grande, one of eight children born to Ralph and Estella (Goller) White. She was raised and educated in La Grande graduating with the class of 1945. She loved growing up and living on a farm. She could operate any of the equipment, plowing, swathing, or baling hay, or whatever needed doing, she enjoyed the work.
On April 24, 1947 she was married to Raymond Leland Fenn in Weiser, Idaho. They made their home in Huntington before returning to La Grande in 1957.
The Fenns were very active members of the Star Promenaders square dance club. They traveled extensively in their motorhome for the dance club but also enjoyed many other outings for huckleberry picking, mushrooming, fishing and hunting and wood cutting as well. They were also active in the Fort Union Grange. Virginia was an accomplished seamstress and cook. She took pride in her bread baking and made the best potato salad.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Steve Fenn and Kathy Lewis of Bullhead City, Arizona, Dennis and Karen Fenn of La Grande, Oregon and Sonja Fenn of Mesa, Arizona numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and two sisters.
