Vivian M. Petersen, lifetime resident of La Grande died Monday, October 30 in La Grande at the age of 66.
Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels-Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center of La Grande.
Viv, as she was known, was born on June 15, 1957, in La Grande, the daughter of Donald R. and Edith M. (Chrusoskie) Tucker. She graduated with the La Grande High School class of 1975. After a stint with the Oregon Department of Transportation, she attended Eastern Oregon State College for an associate degree and worked as the administrative assistant to the provost for several years and continued her education at what became Eastern Oregon University, earning her bachelor's degree. She then took a job in the office of the dean of student affairs as an administrative assistant where she worked until retiring.
After her marriage to Mike Sirrine in 2007 in Boise she tried hunting and fishing but when she didn’t find it to be enjoyable, she tried out some hobbies including sewing and jewelry making but she found she enjoyed being around people most and so enjoyed socializing and card playing.
She is survived by her husband Mike Sirrine, aunt Naomi Chrusoskie, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Matt Sirrine and Nancy Spencer, all of La Grande.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and numerous aunts and uncles.
At Vivian’s wish, she was cremated with no ceremonies.
Friends who wish may make contributions in memory of Vivian Petersen to the Blue Mountain Humane Association of La Grande.
